Before I played against other decks... there was Wizard Spam.

Rune Adepts are weak, expensive to use, and can't even use the best items to protect themselves. Their anti spell works as a double edged sword keeping them weak and pathetic.

With that said, they still have likely the most versatile ability in the game and kind of remind me of Labyrinth.
The idea is simple, get Rune Adepts out and use spells to either cripple an opponent or build value to a victory.

The main strategy for winning involves the use of Mana, Tiny Army in combination with Shining Geyser and Freeze Cyclone.

It's defensive game involved throwing an enchantress down and adding peace to all of my Rune Adepts to limit the need for my limited item game. There are other tools for protection, but once the base is established and the Enchantress is removed, it is typically a game of what spells I can hoard in my hand to build a winning hand to break my opponent. Patronus is there to protect my hand from shatters and thefts, and the deck is a singleton when it comes to most spells making the loss of a single spell usually not to damaging to the decks performance.

Due to the nature of the deck, it is not well rounded or protected well enough to be in a FFA game or smaller maps. It takes space to establish a board of weak creatures and time to establish a game winning situation. The deck has won games it was nearly about to lose and lost games the moment it has begun gaining momentum.

It's not a very powerful archetype, so its hard counters are not very likely to come into play, but world enchantments and mass direct damage do destroy the deck. It has counters to those ideas, but it definitely still plays in the favor of those decks. Otherwise, it is a very mild and meek Storm Deck that relies mostly on gaining defensive chains so that I can set up the Rune Adepts.

The best part about a deck like this is when it is active, it changes the pace of the game and forces people to play often in uncomfortable situations and turn a good portion of their deck into dead wait.
