Okay guys, I'm going to go ahead and post the matches for the Play offs Round 1.

Pairings are still up in the air though I will be changing up the original plan a bit.

I will have two seeds. The Winners Seeds comprised of the players who made the play offs by record alone and the Random Seed comprised of four random players who did not make the cut.

I have hand crafted these matches and will be asking a third party to assign pairings to avoid a conflict of interest seeing as I'm in the play offs as well.

Jasoya and I played our playoff match tonight. I went with a very unconventional strategy and managed to come away with the victory. Jasoya's deck definitely kept me on my toes, though. Good game, Jasoya!

Psyko and I played our match last night. I went with a Green/Blue support deck with the intention of leaning heavily on Spiny Agamas pumped up by Lichenoid to defend my lands.

Psyko went with a Yellow/Green Gogma deck and he pulled 3 Dhampir's early, scaring the bejezus out of me. I managed to get rid of one via Derskeeter while another of them took out my Brontides . That card alone made me change my strategy and I went all out Pudding on psyko. A few fortuitous rolls in my favor made the score very lopsided but Psyko hung in there and was able to prevent me from winning castle style -- we went the full 45 rounds instead and I ended up on top.

Good game Psyko, I hope we can get a rematch with our "b plan" decks soon it.

Derceto7 and I played once, got disconnected while he was on his way to winning. We retried and the same thing happened, only more convincingly this time. So, I concede the match to him. Good games, Derceto, and good luck in the final match!

I sent a message to Sin and Andy that I'm conceding my round. I was unable to get ahold of Sin and my XBL Gold expired on the 4th so I won't be able to play. Sorry about holding up the tournament and good luck to everyone left.

Sin and I played round 1 of the best of 3 finals games last night. We played on Santana Village and both went with the N decks.

Sin ran into some bad luck in the beginning; after playing a first turn barbarian I pained him leaving him with 10g. His next roll didn't make it to the fort and I backwards him twice leaving him with 10g while I waltzed around the map. Rolls in my favor gave me an early green chain with Agnostura and Wolverine. He started to climb back into the game but I had lvl 2 lands all over the place and Ring of Succubus and Eagle Rapier in hand to deflect most attacks and he fell victim to a lvl 3 Revenant, then a backwards, then that same Revenant the very next turn after I had run past it and put it at Lvl 5 clearing the board of his creatures.

Our decks were pretty different from eachothers. I ran R/G relying on Spiny Agama with Mutation and Agnostura/Revenant for green to hold lands while using Barbarian and Salamander for my offensive power (magma hammer for a boost). Defensively I decided to use FA bonus from Eagle Rapier and Ring of Succubus instead of armor. As for spells, I used a medley of Pain and Backwards to hold him back while zooming through the map with Haste and HW6.
Sin used a Red/Neutral deck that was very heavy with T-rex (I applaud the use!) Barbarian and Bia (she was a total pain in the butt all game). The only Item I recall him packing (other than the required Protean ring) was Prismatic Wand. It was very useful as he took out some of my leveled lands but in the end just having 4 of those proved to be not enough fire power especially in a 60 card deck.
Either way it was a great match and the score was lopsided only due to the double big toll Sin had to pay back to back, he had me on my toes the whole time even with the ridiculously restricted way he started. GG sin, see you tonight (hopefully) for round 2

Sin and I played round 2 of the finals and I came out victorious.

To put in perspective the match was on X and we both chose the S deck (which made sense with Permission and Theft). However other than permission and theft we had very different decks. Sin ran a G/R/Y deck that used buffers like Lichenoid and Fay to boost Tengu and his defensive creatures. I used a R/Y deck that relied on Cait Sith to stop any action he had.... and it turned out to be the difference.

He started out extremely strong with double Witches on the S strip of X hitting me for -60g on a regular basis and made me sell a few lands early... but once I started lapping I managed to get 3 Cait Sith's down on red lands and he had no answer for the little kitty. I ended up with a W string of lvl 4's... 2 cait siths, a Burning Flame with 90hp (thanks to fat body) and fistfight and a pumped up Chimera completely stopped him from lapping unless he held a possession. The score ended up being quite lopsided because of Sin's inability to lap safely as he tried to hold off and permission his way through, but his lap bonuses just weren't strong enough to get him back into the game.

On a side note, we played the tie-breaker match just for fun on Colosseum... and he completely romped me with a leveled up sea bonze that I just couldn't stop landing on.
