Sweet! I didn't even realize that was the final match. Forum signature medal and Hall of Champions entry forthcoming, Monk!

Congratulations!

Thanks Maxx. You definitely made me fight for every inch for the slim victory.
As Maxx said he had a very cool and very impressive skyrim themed deck which gave my "Cyber Crime" theme total fits since my main strategies for taking and holding land were negated by his various heavy hitters.

For the early game he had a helltic that was utterly wreaking havoc on my creatures and forced me to dedicate quite a bit of time to ensuring was removed from play. In addition, Maxx made me pay dearly for levelling up my lands early on before I had fully realized the sheer depth of potential trouble makers he had in his deck and between luck and Maxx's exceptional playing I was never able to take back the first two lands I had levelled (a lvl 4 and 3 respectively).

With my inability to effectively hold lands against his powerhouses I was forced to rely *heavily* on the movement control elements in my deck such as Slow and Word of Recall to keep us neck-and-neck (Illustrating how much this helped, I only captured two tolls totaling 44G in the entire 63 round game, compared to Maxx capturing 11 tolls totaling 1320G; what offset this was the fact that I outlapped him 9 to 5).

Eventually, since I couldnt effectively level and hold lands against Maxx I had to resort to changing my gameplan to playing symbols and making a mad dash for the goal all the while hoping Maxx wouldn't draw his corruption at an inopportune time (as well as hoping he wouldn't land on one of my several quickly levelled lands that were in precarious positions). Luckily for me, despite maxx starting to change big lands to colours that did not match my symbols to try forcing me around the board another time I was able to just barely avoid his levelled up lands on my way to the castle a final time.

Excellent match Maxx! There was not a single moment in it where you didn't have me on the ropes desperately trying to find a new angle to go at you with.

As I told Maxx last night in our final theme match figured I'd post the cards included in my deck for that last match (While I used 4 different themes for the 4 different matches including Chess, Redheads, 4 Letter Words and Cybercrime I'm only planning to submit my favorite of them (The chess theme) on the player deck section, so this one will only be mentioned here for now)

My 4th theme deck used in the Championship match against IVIadd IVIAxx: "Cybrcrime"
I came up with this theme earlier in the year when I was having computer issues thanks to a virus I had picked up at uni. I had originally planned to use a different theme for the final match on Alcyon II but after glancing back at this theme I saw some pretty good combos that I decided would be a better option to go with in case Maxx came in with a deck with lots of various things it could do very well (which he did). So without further ado here is the explanation of why I choose the cards I did to fit my Cyber Crime theme.

Living Claw (3) - this is what I picture rooting around in your computer when a hacker gets in.
Silver Idol (3) - pop-ups claiming that if you 'click here you could win $100000000 are good ways to get viruses.
Trap Spider (4) - Pop-ups claiming "you have a virus! click here to run sandman's virus cleaner" also tend to be traps with viruses lurking at the other end...
Unnameable (2) - ever have a computer virus that was so evil even your anti-virus couldnt figure out what it was?
Nike (3) - See the explanation for Succubus below
Succubus (3) - clicking on pictures of women as scantily clad as Succubus is also a great way to get viruses on your computer.

Ring of the Succubus (3) - Ever get one of those emails saying you've just inherited your long lost second aunt's cousin's antique ring worth $10000000? Yeah I wouldn't click on that... -also, it's the ring those pesky Succubi wear.

Backwards (3) - sometimes using a restore point is the only way to get rid of a virus.
Capture (1) - Keylogger anyone?
Corruption (1) - that's what happens to your data.
Drain Magic (2) - Cyber criminals love stealing your identity and then your money!
Find (2) - What I kept wishing my anti-virus would do to the virus that had invaded my computer
Pain (2) - does this need explanation?
Paralyzer (3) - what viruses might do to your computer.
Poison Mind (2) - the people who come up with the viruses have messed up minds me thinks.
Refuge (2) - what I wouldn't give for a better firewall.
Slow (3) - What a virus might do to your computer
Theft (2) - of Identity/credit card info/etc.
Trespass (2) - it's what hackers do.
Wall Transform (1) - What the really good viruses do to your computer.
Word of Recall (3) - sometimes it's better just to wipe the danged thing and start fresh.

As you might have guessed this deck relies on Silver Idols combined with Trap Spiders, and Succubus to hold lands (Something Maxx's deck rendered completely ineffective haha), has Nike as a way to hit opponents with silver idol on the field and and Unnameable to kill something you *really* need gone. It also has some strong movement control elements which can keep the opponent at bay with the combination of theft, drain magic and poison mind to keep them from getting too giddy with refuges. Of course there were a lot of other cards that could have been put in the deck too such as bandit, thief, possession, etc but there were way too many cards for me to fit them all into a cohesive deck. At the very least this deck is likely unexpected in a theme match, but as Maxx Proved it has some serious holes that, despite the luck I had this one time, could well lead to its undoing.
