Let's use this thread to get the ball rolling on a third blind league.

For those who haven't played in a blind league, we use the same scoring/time limit/sudden death/land rules as for standard matches. TG is 7000. 60 sec. time limit. Sudden death off. Random lands. In addition, we play on a random map chosen at the moment you create the match. (To get a random map, you have to create your online match as a "custom" match and make it random.)

For blind matches, you don't create your decks. Instead, you chose a type of deck (G/R, B/Y, Neutral or multicolored), and the computer gives you cards at random. While they're an improvement over the starter deck, these books tend not to be very powerful. You're forced to rely more on getting the best out of what the computer gives you and finding creative uses for cards you don't normally use. (Blind matches, for example, have given me a new appreciation for Leveller.)

Unlike the main league, the blind league will be set up as a double-elimination tournament. Lose once, and you're bounced into a loser's bracket, where each match is a winner-take-all affair. Lose twice and you're out.

I too am new and would like to sign up for this. Never played a blind match before so it should be interesting.

What kind of time frame is there for the players to find each other and play a match? I'd like to participate but I'm only available for a few hours a few nights a week.

I am going to need to drop out because of the pressure of homework assignments and exams from Purdue University (though I am still going to participate in League VII and I am not going to drop out of that). Sorry for the inconvenience.

I'll try to get rolling on this later this week or next week. Still a bit busy at the moment and am sick right now, to boot.
