Culdcept Saga - Player Decks

Starter+ (NRG/NBY, 28/9/13)

I compiled the ideas in our Improve the Starter Deck! thread into mirror-image RG and BY decks and then tried them out online to see how good they are. I've used the RG and BY versions many times each, and I'm happy to say they're both a lot better than I expected! The decks have only lost 1 time each so far, surprisingly! If you've played me recently, and I used a deck with a red or a blue cover, you played against a Starter+ deck. ;-)

I stretched the G and rarity rules just a little in a few places, when the slight G increase and rarity change made a big difference. The most obvious example of where I did this is armor... Chain Mail to Magma/Storm Armor and Leather Armor to Spectre's Robe... only 10G outside the rule and a gigantic improvement on each. The other was Manna to Fairy Light, because Fairy Light tends to bring in more G than Manna on average, and it's also a cheap enchantment overwriter.

Both decks are very versatile, and have an answer for most situations in a game. Each deck's 1 loss (so far) was pretty close. From what I've seen so far, each deck is never out of the game - there's always something that can be done to have a good chance at winning. They're also really fun!

Starter+ RG

2 Baldanders
2 Bandit
2 Sanctum Guard
2 Trap Spider
2 Barbarian
2 Burning Titan
2 Cait Sith
2 Sharazad
2 Tokebi
2 Grimalkin
2 Revenant
2 Sakuya
2 Squirrine
2 Jack-o'-Lantern

2 Boomerang
2 Magma Armor
2 Magma Hammer
1 Soul Ray
2 Spectre's Robe

2 Crusher
2 Fairy Light
1 Haste
2 Holy Word 3
2 Holy Word 6
2 Paralyzer
2 Relief

Starter+ RG is the "kitchen sink" of the 2 decks. There's a little of everything in here... Support, Immediate, Untargetable, Land Transfer, plenty of Paralysis action, some G theft, a little Attacks First, a little Neutralize, and enough muscle to get the job done most of the time. Likewise, it can be played any which way, just roll with how the match is going. Something in this deck is going to work, every match.

Starter+ BY

2 Baldanders
2 Bandit
2 Sanctum Guard
2 Trap Spider
2 Ahuizotl
2 Behemoth
2 Bloody Pudding
2 Deathquito
2 Harpy
2 Knight
2 Nike
2 Pegasus
2 Sylph
2 Frost Beast

2 Boomerang
1 Soul Ray
2 Spectre's Robe
2 Storm Armor
2 Storm Spear

2 Crusher
2 Fairy Light
1 Haste
2 Holy Word 3
2 Holy Word 6
2 Paralyzer
2 Relief

The BY version has most of the diversity that the RG deck has, but what it lacks, it makes up for in increased strength in other areas. It has a lot more Attacks First, more Neutralize/Reflect, and arguably more firepower (with Knight + Storm Armor and Frost Beast + Boomerang). It has fewer Support creatures, but anyone who has played against April's DaBlob knows that Bloody Pudding is extremely difficult to deal with.
