In-Battle Combos are the simplest of all the combos in Culdcept Revolt, and often the most effective. Creature + Item = mayhem.

Petrify Stone Tool

"Petrify Stone gives you ST=0, HP=80. But the "mash for ST" ability of Angry Mob triggers after Petrify Stone alters stats, so you can bypass the ST=0 and potentially end up with an ST=100, HP=80 creature for a battle. Use it to, e.g., successfully invade a creature with Attacks First, or defend a territory and kill the invader." - SBRJCT

"This combo has two elements: 1) Protects 30HP creatures from scrolls. 2) Your opponent has to produce between 100ST-200ST to kill this creature depending on the level of the land. 120ST-220ST if Brontides is present." - Russel09

Now, if you come across an overconfident Cepter, show them the error of their ways. Just for emphasis, this ability out-earns Bandit by 2.5x, though it doesn't steal it from the opponent. This lowers its effectiveness to ~25% over the bearded thief, give or take the cost of the cards used in battle. You can also use Quicksand or a Holy Word enchantment to force their hand." - Russel09

"Sigurd and Samurai like killing high ST creatures with instant death. But, what happens when you lose the gamble and the creature survives the 70/80% death chance? Use Vorpal Sword and bring that monster's HP within a manageable range. This has the added benefit of being an item draw. If your opponent is very possessive and likes keeping his creatures alive no matter how likely they are to die, they may waste a vital armor defending against Vorpal Sword just to have your instant death ability proc without ever equipping the sword." - Whooh05

"So long as you have both Scylla and a certain defense item in your hand, you are nearly immune to enemy toll fees. Not only that, but the enchantment stays on them for future times you might land on them. Additionally, it sets up a nice one-two punch of enchantment >> Exile, if the critter has no summoning conditions. I usually use Diamond Armor, because her ability is Battle End, not Attack Bonus, so her ST drops to 0 and she just doesn't attack. This also keeps her from impaling herself on any reflect normal attack abilities the enemy has. Honestly, though, most of the time the opponent just wants to use a defense item and let you go on your way." - Cameron

"Triton draws a card every time it uses an item. Not only does Soul Ray return to the hand so he can keep using it, but he has scroll critical so you get an ST=45 scroll attack out of it. Boomerang also works (more cheaply, too)." - SBRJCT
